We are always keeping an eye out for trading opportunities that could be useful to our members and this is one worth checking out if you are interested in trading in the Carrigaline area.
Cork County Council has opened applications for Casual Trading Licences and Casual Provision of Services Licences for the 2026/2027 licensing period in the Carrigaline Municipal District.
The closing date is Friday, 18 September 2026, so interested traders should not leave it too late to check the available locations and gather the documents required.

What is a Casual Trading Licence?
A Casual Trading Licence is required if you want to sell goods from a temporary location in a public place.
This could be relevant to food traders, craft traders, general-goods sellers and other mobile traders who would like to trade from one of the locations covered by the Carrigaline Municipal District bye-laws.
The Council is also accepting applications for Casual Provision of Services Licences. This separate licence is for people providing a service from a temporary location in a public place, rather than selling goods.
A new licensing opportunity for the area
This is the first opportunity to apply under the new Carrigaline Municipal District Casual Trading and Casual Provision of Services Bye-Laws, which came into effect on 15 May 2026.
Before applying, take a little time to read through the bye-laws and application documents. Check which locations are available, what type of trading is permitted and whether the conditions suit your business.
You can find the application forms and bye-laws on the Cork County Council website.
What will you need to apply?
Cork County Council states that applicants should submit:
- A completed application form
- A €65 application fee
- Evidence of public liability insurance with the minimum cover specified by the Council
- Any other supporting documents relevant to the application
The €65 is listed as an application fee. Make sure you check the application documents for details of the licence fee and any additional charges, conditions or restrictions that may apply to the particular location you are interested in.
Applying does not automatically mean that a licence will be granted. Applications will be assessed by Cork County Council under the relevant bye-laws.
Where should applications be sent?
Application forms are available online or directly from the Carrigaline Municipal District Office.
Completed applications and all supporting documents should be submitted to:
Carrigaline Municipal District Office
Waterpark House
Old Church Road
Carrigaline
Co. Cork
Email: carrigalinemd@corkcoco.ie Telephone: (021) 437 1800
The closing date is: Friday, 18 September 2026
Before you apply
Have a good look at the locations and conditions before completing your application. Check what you are allowed to sell, the days and times when trading is permitted, the fees involved and the level of insurance required.
