November 20th,  21st, 27th & 28th  : 11am-2pm

Immerse yourself in the intriguing art of wire sculpting this year at the Ballymaloe Craft Fair.

Join Master sculptor Glenn Gibson in a unique workshop for beginners and enthusiasts of wire art. Glenn Gibson is internationally renowned in the art world and has been perfecting his craft for the past two decades. He is particularly esteemed for his beautiful Connemara Hawthorn Tree sculptures and these will be the focus of the day as you work to create your own unique wire tree. The workshop will run from 11am to 2pm Saturday 20th, Sunday 21st, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of November. In this three hour intimate workshop, Glenn will begin by giving a step by step demonstration of his process and share his own journey as a sculptor. You will then be provided with the tools and materials of wire sculpting to apply what you have learnt. Glenn will assist you as you craft your own wire sculpture imparting the techniques and tricks to wire art which he has honed over the past two decades. This unique workshop has been designed to ensure you leave the experience with your very own alluring wire tree and the flavour for this art form which you can then pursue and experiment with. The workshop will be located in the heart of the Ballymaloe Craft Fair.
