Did you know that….Dungarvan Show is one of the longest running shows in the country! It is the only Agricultural show in Co Waterford and is one of the largest shows running in Munster. This year will be our 103rd year and we are sure that it will be our Best yet!!
Organisers are delighted that the Waterford Truck Show are joining them this year. In recent years the Waterford Truck Show has attracted entries from throughout Ireland and the UK and they should provide quite the visual spectacle at our show on Sunday July 10th.
Dungarvan Agricultural Show is a traditional show set on almost 90 acres. When the Show was first staged in 1917 the mission was that local producers would be given a platform to display their stock and their home grown produce with a particular emphasis on Education. 103 years later Dungarvan Show hosts exhibitors from all over Ireland. In the Showjumping rings many world famous riders compete. The ridden Hunter rings, the young horse rings, the pony rings and the breeding rings are always packed. For many young children, Dungarvan Show provides the opportunity to compete in public for the first time. In the Cattle and Sheep rings beautiful animals from all the different breeds are shown by exhibitors from throughout Munster.
Home Industries are a huge part of the Show and from early morning the Home Industries marquee boasts a huge array of Floral, Vegetable and Fruit exhibits. The very popular Arts and Crafts section is always well supported, again giving the children the opportunity to compete at Dungarvan Show.
If that is not enough you can enjoy the Dog Show – Why not give your dog a special day out! There will be a large trade stand exhibition and Artisan Food Stalls etc will be dotted around the grounds. Live music will be provided by Roisin Dubh and further treats include a Falconry display and a Kiddies Corner. Keep an eye out on our Socials for further updates!
This year’s show will be held in conjunction with the Waterford Truck show.
