Kildysart Agricultural Show Society

About Event:

Kildysart Agricultural Show.

The  horse classes attract nationwide interest. The  highlights include the Shannonside League for showjumping ponies as well as many show jumping classes in all grades. They are also delighted to host the Young Rider competitions.

The Young Rider competitions are a relatively new innovation which are designed to cater for the riders who have outgrown ponies and are starting out in the adult showjumping world. The Limerick/Clare branch SJI have organised these finals and we are delighted to host them. Orchard Equestrian have come on board with very generous sponsorship for three new classes.

These will run concurrently with the original classes for which there is separate prize money and prestigious trophies. This gives young and more mature riders separate competitions, setting the stage for very competitive and exciting jumping. Kildysart Agricultural Show Society hosts the All-Ireland two-year-old filly final which has a prize fund of €3000. We also have the Champion of Champions Young Horses competition which has a total prize fund of €2,400 (Entries are confined to non-thoroughbred horses that are entered in regular show classes). The Kildysart Show is noted for its great turnout of mares and foals, young horses and ridden hunters while working hunter and show hunter ponies are also catered for.
