Many market organisers, event organisers, venues and property owners make public liability (and sometimes product liability) insurance a condition of trade for any business operating on their premises.
If you want to be protected against any claim for injury to a member of the public or damage to their property then you need public liability insurance.
Insurance provides essential protection against unexpected events, accidents, or liabilities that could impact your business. It helps safeguard your financial well-being and gives you peace of mind. It also helps demonstrate that you are operating a well managed, professional business.
Public liability insurance
If you are interacting with the public in any way, public liability will form the basis of the cover you require. This covers your liability for damage to property or injury to a third party that you or your business is deemed to have been responsible for.
Product liability insurance
If your business involves the sale/supply of any form of physical product, then you may also require products liability insurance. This operates in a similar manner to public liability however relates to injury or damage caused by a product you have supplied, generally beyond the point of purchase.
Employers’ liability insurance
If you/your business employs anyone, whether they be full time, casual employees, volunteers or even family members, once they are performing the role of an employee, then you may also need to consider employers’ liability insurance. This protects you/your business against any claim made by an employee for any injury or loss suffered by them during the course of them working for you.
Through our broker, we offer a number of insurance packages tailored to the specific needs of our membership categories. This includes public liability insurance, product liability insurance and employers liability insurance.
