Covid-19 has forced the closure of events not only across Ireland, but around the globe.
There’s no doubt this ongoing situation has had a serious impact on businesses of all kinds. From event organisers and staff to traders, entertainers, and service providers, so many have seen their calendars wiped clean and their income vanish almost overnight.
Summer is usually one of the busiest and most vibrant times of the year for events, fairs, markets, and shows. It’s heart-breaking to see fields that should be filled with laughter, music, and footfall now sitting silent.

Still, we remain hopeful. As public health advice evolves and case numbers (hopefully) come under control, we can start to look ahead. Many are already working hard behind the scenes to prepare for 2021, with the aim of bringing back the festivals and gatherings we all miss so dearly — safely and sustainably.
We’ll continue to keep our members updated on any new developments, opportunities, or changes to guidance. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to stay connected, support each other where possible, and hold onto hope that better days are coming.
Stay safe and take care,
The IOMST Team
