Farewell to Strandhill People’s Market

After 11 incredible years of trading, community spirit, and memories, Strandhill People’s Market has announced it will not be returning to Sligo Airport.

This much-loved market has been a weekend favourite for locals and visitors alike — filled with the sights, smells, and sounds of local food, crafts, creativity, and connection.

It has been a special place where small businesses could grow, and where new traders often got their first start.

We know many of our members have fond memories of trading at Strandhill, and we’d like to take a moment to thank the organising team for their hard work and dedication over the years. Running a market isn’t easy, and it takes a huge effort to keep it going for over a decade. The impact they’ve made on the community and local economy is something to be proud of.

We’ve been in touch with the organisers, and they’ve let us know they may be listing equipment for sale in the coming weeks.

If you’re a market organiser or trader looking to set up or upgrade, keep an eye on our For Sale listings and newsletter for updates.

Thank you, Strandhill People’s Market, for all you’ve brought to the market community.
